How to make your nominations for the Sports Awards 2009

Now in its fourth year, Essex Chronicle Media Group is proud to launch Sports Awards 2009. We want to recognise individuals and teams which have contributed most to sporting life in your local area. The awards will be presented on Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at a star-studded ceremony

For the first stage of the competition, readers of the Essex Chronicle and Brentwood Gazette will have the chance to nominate who they think should take home an award from the following four categories:
The closing date for all nominations is Thursday, December 24, 2009.

1. Team of the Year: This award is open to any team in the area that you think has achieved the most in the past 12 months.

2. Young Team of the Year: Designed to recognise the under 18 side responsible for the greatest accomplishment in the past year

3. Young Sports Personality of the Year: Is there an outstanding junior athlete (under 18) who deserves to be honoured?
4. Sports Personality of the Year: Awarded to a person in any sport who you think has shone over the last year.
