Drawing in fun day crowds
Children attending the village's schools competed to design the cover of the programme for the event on Sunday July 6.
Sue Mason, chair of the organising committee said: “The standard of entries was, as usual, excellent and demonstrated again how much this event means to the people of Doddinghurst, young and old.”
Competition finalists – including overall winner Emma Pallett – were joined on the village playing field by a very special four-legged guest from the Remus Sanctuary.
Last year, despite pouring rain on the day of the event, around £7,000 was raised for six charitable organisations in the village and it is hoped this year will be even more successful.
“It really is an excellent event and everyone who comes along enjoys themselves, whatever the weather,” said Sue.
