WRITTLE: David Beckham and family visit village

Monday, June 29, 2009, 17:27

CELEBRITY fever hit Writtle village on Friday night when David and Victoria Beckham and their family held a celebration at the Blue Bridge restaurant.

Star-struck youngsters who had heard rumours about the visit through social networking sites joined villagers trying to catch a glimpse of the couple and their sons Brooklyn, 10, Romeo, six, and four-year-old Cruz.

The Beckhams were at the restaurant, the former Cock and Bell pub in Bridge Street, Writtle, for a family celebration for the 60th birthday of David's mother, Sandra.

The evening's festivities had one jarring note, at going home time, when David's car was clipped by a vehicle driven by one of his bodyguards.
