WITHAM: Great-grandmother found dead in river

A GREAT-GRANDMOTHER from Witham was found dead in the River Brain after passers-by spotted her mobility scooter in the water.

Rose Phillips, 69, was pulled from the water near the junction of River Walk and Guithavon Road at 7.30pm on Friday.

Anyone who might have seen Mrs Phillips, of Larkspur Close, on her red mobility scooter between 6pm and 7.30pm on February 5 is asked to contact Baddow Road Policing Unit on 0300 333 4444.
