School secures district double

CHELMSFORD County High School for Girls triumphed in the under-13 and under-15 Double District Tennis Tournament held at New Hall School.

Impressive performances from Prudence Jones, 14, from Billericay and Charlotte McGuiness, 15, from Stebbing secured a 6-2 win for County High over New Hall School in the final of the under-15 tournament.

Bronwen Perkins, 14, and Charlotte Cousins, 12, from Billericay and Chelmsford respectively, also played well to win the under-13 final. The match ended in a 6-3 win for the High School over New Hall.

Ann Molyneux, advanced skills teacher at the school, said: "We are very proud of our girls.

"They have worked tremendously hard, showing commitment and determination. We wish them every success in future tournaments."
