Man, 42, dies in Essex house blaze

A MAN has died after being carried from a burning house by firefighters in Halstead, Essex.

Crews were called to Abels Road, Halstead, shortly after 8.30pm on Thursday night where they found the 42-year-old man with burns on 80 per cent of his body.

He was taken to Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford where he later died.

Another man was taken to Colchester general hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.

The fire is now being investigated by Essex fire service and police.
