A National Express East Anglia spokeswoman said: “Services between London Liverpool Street and Colchester have been running to a full time table since the second line was restored at 8.10am today( Friday).
“We are expecting a full evening service with slight delays.”
Thousands of commuters were faced with nightmare journeys on Monday after a train brought down a mile of overhead cables near Ingatestone throwing the network into chaos.
Buses were drafted in to take frustrated passengers from Witham to Colchester.
As engineers worked to restore cables at Ingatestone commuters were again hit when a freight train derailed at Marks Tey at 2pm on Thursday, causing the line to be closed at Witham.
By the evening, one line was opened up but this led to a backlog of trains and had a severe impact on journeys.
