Hutton 'A' push aside Billericay

PREMIER DIVISION

Making a determined effort to cash in should the leaders Selex 'A' slip up, are Hutton 'A' who pulled off an excellent and convincing 10-0 home win over Billericay 'B'.

The Hutton team of Steve Woodley, Hamish Innes and Keith Phillips were far too strong for John Gagg, Dave Carter and Peter Barrett with the visitors managing to take only three ends in the whole match.

Leaders Selex 'A' have a match in hand there are only three points separating the two teams at this point.

BAE Selex 'B' with Kevin Worthington, Trevor Collin and Gary Ward, gained a 5-5 draw at home to Brentwood 'A', but none of the home side could match Paul Cuming who collected yet another three wins for the visitors.

Debbie Auvache defeated Collin for one point and then combined with Cuming to snatch the doubles point in a five end struggle. Auvache lost in five to both Worthington and Ward.

BAE Selex 'B' were then away at Billericay 'A', who fielded Ev Lucas, Mark Martin and Terry Timms. Worthington, Collin and Ward were only able to pick up three points in a 7-3 away defeat.

Ward was unbeaten for the visitors, but the home side were good value for their victory.

Billericay 'C' and Billericay 'B' shared the points in a 5-5 draw which saw Gagg in super form picking up a maximum against Ray Eldridge (two wins), Neil Freeman and Guy McKenzie.

Carter and John Parodi the other two 'B' players to win.

FIRST DIVISION

NINE one wins were the order of the day as BAE Selex 'C' defeated Buttsbury 'A', while Mountnessing 'B' did likewise against Billericay Sports 'D'.

Billericay Sports 'C' also collected the same result against Buttsbury 'B'.

For leaders Selex 'C' both Paul Brown and Chris Aukett were undefeated with Colin Clements losing the only home game of the night to George Pavitt.

Moving into second place and looking odds on to be runners up and are Mountnessing 'B', who won thanks to Dave Finlayson and Gordon Gatheral going unbeaten and Mick Morris winning twice. Mick Joslin scored the only for Sports 'D'.

The Sports 'C' team of Pat White, Alf Fox and Linda Attridge also picked up a home win over Graham Sturton, Paul Sturton and Caroline Cole. White losing to Paul Sturton.

SECOND DIVISION

BRENTWOOD Hard regained second place with a hard fought 7-3 away win at close rivals Mountnessing 'C' and had John Barns to thank, with an excellent treble.

Adam Bishop won twice and Nick Wright once, but both lost to Len Jupe. Mountnessing's third player Paul Singleton collected one point.

Brentwood 'C' went down 6-4 to visitors Hutton 'C', who fielded the unbeaten Richard Hayhoe alongside Mike Newman and Ron Milbourn.

Newman picked up two wins with Millbourn, who was pointless against John Benson (two wins), Mike Hooks (one win) and Graham Harris (one win).
