BIRMINGHAM BOUND: The seven Chelmsford County High School girls who are competing in the National Indoor Hockey Finals in Birmingham, Charlotte McGuiness, Isabelle Hare, Georgia Herron, Martha Jenkinson, Jocasta Staines, Kathryn Ecott, and Jessica Ecott.
Following on from their victory in the Essex Indoor Tournament, Chelmsford Hockey Club U16 girls were selected to represent Essex in the Eastern Region Indoor Championship.
From their second place success at the regional finals they have qualified to compete at the National Finals.
The girls train on a weekly basis with Chelmsford Hockey Club in addition to regular hockey sessions at school.
The team representatives from CCHS comprises Martha Jenkinson, Year 10 from Dunmow; Georgia Herron, Year 10, from Boreham; Jocasta Staines, Year Jessica Ecott, Year 11, from Dunmow; Kathryn Ecott, Year 11, from Dunmow; Isabelle Hare, Year 11, from Maldon; and Charlotte McGuiness, Year 10, from Stebbing.
Miss Ann Molyneux, Advanced Skills Teacher at Chelmsford County High School, said: "The girls work extremely hard at their hockey within school and really enjoy the competitive side of the sport.
''We are delighted that so many of our girls continue activities beyond school time and we thoroughly value and appreciate the links with the Chelmsford Hockey Club. We wish the team well for the finals and future games."
