Fourth man charged in Heybridge stabbing

A MALDON man has been charged after a stabbing in Heybridge.

Sam Cavanagh, 22, of Oak Close, Maldon, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent on an 18-year-old from Southminster. The incident took place in Temple Way on Sunday May 25.

Cavanagh appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court in Essex today, Thursday July 17, where an application for bail was denied.

He will remain in police custody until August 18, when he appears at Chelmsford Crown Court for a plea and case management hearing.

Three other men from the Maldon and Heybridge have been charged with inflicting GBH with intent and will also appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on August 18.
