For the school's Year 7 and Year 8 teams won at the Central Essex Secondary School Sports Association's netball tournament.

The competition features teams from 11 schools in central Essex.

CCHS' teams played five matches to reach the semi-finals and both came up against New Hall School in the final.

The Year 7 team won 7-5, while the Year 8 team were also triumphant to return to the Broomfield Road based school with the winners' trophy.

Year 8 captain, Megan Clark, said: "The team worked hard and pulled together. Our confidence was boosted by the amount of support we received from our parents and teachers on the day."

Year 7 captain, Alex Buckley, commented: "It is an enjoyable sport to play with your friends. I love playing and am looking forward to our next match."

Sarah Bellamy, head of PE at CCHS, added: "I have not stopped smiling. Both teams attend practice sessions twice a week and are very committed to their chosen activity.
