Barrie has his Senior moment

ORFORDNESS was the venue for Braintree Sea Angling Club's latest shore match.

Conditions were good with the forecast showers not putting in an appearance, and the light north easterly breeze and bright sunshine made for a beautiful day.

The anglers caught codling. dogfish, whiting and pout. When the points were totted up it was Barrie Senior fishing his first beach match this year that was the clear winner.

His catch of nine codling, sex dogfish, three pout and two whiting gave him an equivalent weight of 24lb 9oz.

Barrie also had the largest cod a fish of 4lb 5oz.

In second place with two cod, three dogfish and two whiting for a weight of 8lb 10.5oz was Chris Leonard.

In third place was Andy Gaskin with three small codling, five dogfish, whiting and pout took third place, 8lb 5oz beating just half an ounce ahead of Kevin Thorp.
