It's a sponsorship initiative called 'Push for Promotion' from the supporters' club and if they can raise the cash through individual or local company donations it will give Garvey the chance to sign on an additional first team squad player for at least six weeks.
"We've spoken to Robbie and the club chairman Lee Harding who are backing and full appreciate our sponsorship appeal to help sign a new player," explained the supporters' club chairman Gordon Humphries. "I believe it's a real chance for supporters to play a part in helping the club's future and possible promotion.
"The club has suffered financially of late because of the loss of matches, but the team is in a good position with four games in hand and one point off a play-off spot so our campaign is really tenable."
The supporters' gesture has been welcomed by both Garvey and Harding.
"It's a tremendous gesture by our supporters who are the real backbone of any club and it's really appreciate it," said Garvey. "Any effort that helps us to strengthen is welcomed."
Harding added: "We've always been well backed by our supporters and whenever we've asked them to help in some ways they always respond positively."
The Iron go to Lewes on Saturday and host Weston-Super-Mare on Tuesday (kick-off 7.45pm).
