EPPING: 'Gun' used in post office robbery

Friday, November 21, 2008, 12:44

WITNESSES are being sought after a female worker had what is believed to be a handgun pointed in her face during an attempted robbery at an Epping post office.

Two men, thought to be in their late teens or early 20s, entered the post office in Lindsey Street at around 4.45pm on Thursday (November 20).

One of the robbers pointed what the 40 year-old woman believed to be a gun in her face. He was wearing a white hooded jacket, a black scarf over his face and a black woolly hat under his hood. He was white, between 5ft 8in and 5ft 10in tall, was of medium build, with blue eyes. His accomplice is of similar build.

The duo tried in vain to open the till but the pair, both wearing scarves over their faces, fled empty handed.

Witnesses should call Epping CID on 0300 333 44 44.
