HANNAKINS LADIES 1
(Easter Region League Division One South)
THE Hannakins Ladies put in a real shift on Sunday working their socks off for a deserved 1-0 victory away to a strong Royston Town side.
The initial exchanges were cagey although Hannakins opened the scoring after 10 minutes when Michelle Stoneman found Louise Vale in space who cleverly freed Layla Little to beat the offside trap to score.
Royston worked hard to get back into the game although terrific work from all areas of the pitch nullified their advances.
Two outstanding saves from Jackie Smith in the second half ensured another clean sheet although the whole team fought for every ball and made tackle after tackle, working hard for each other and for another three points.
This Sunday Hannakins are at home to AFC Kempston (kick-off 2pm).
