Awards Presenter

Etholle George, BBC Essex

Etholle GeorgeOriginally from Ilford, Etholle grew up in the rural villages of West Essex. She moved to Chelmsford around 14 years ago.

Having toyed with the idea of being an air traffic controller and a vet, Etholle left school and started her working life as an accountant in the City.

Wanting a complete change of direction, her first radio job in 1993 included the preparation of radio reports on how full the local shopping car parks were!

Having left the world of double entry book-keeping behind a long time ago, she is now a freelance presenter working mainly for the BBC, but with a long list of corporate clients too!

She now presents a lunchtime news magazine programme for BBC Essex (radio), five days a week. The programme launched last September and Etholle says that she really enjoys the format - a mix of news interviews, music and lots of laughter.

Since 2003 she's presented TV's The Politics Show (a live discussion programme) for the East of England (Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambs, Beds, Herts and Bucks!) on BBC1, on Sunday lunchtime.

She also gained extensive experience in TV newsreading and news producing - over a number of years for Look East in Norwich and Cambridge Etholle has also worked as a presenter for BBC7 and once recorded a music series for schools on BBC Radio 3!

She has worked in the world of corporate events since 1996, hosting a wide variety of glittering awards ceremonies, conferences, product launches, and has presented and added her voice to numerous training and promotional videos.

Keen on skiing, she also has two qualifications in Interior Design and several in scuba diving!

She has a son, Ruben who is just over the age of three.
