This category is open to any organisation, irrespective of size or sector that can demonstrate commercial success and strategies for growth whilst achieving excellence in its commitment to the support and development of its workforce.

The winner will most aptly demonstrate its clear focus on employees through the application of advanced working practices and will be able to show how its commitment to its workforce has benefited the organisation.

There are two separate groups for small/medium and large companies within this category.

What the judges are looking for

Organisations should be able to demonstrate that they have schemes, initiatives and policies which assess, deliver and monitor their workforce's training and development, health and safety and general wellbeing. Any innovative approaches to working terms and conditions should be described.

Specific questions to answer

  1. What are your company values and how do you ensure buy-in from employees?
  2. What methods do you use to obtain employee feed-back?
  3. What benefits has your organisation gained directly from its commitment to your workforce?
  4. Describe your company's approach to the following and include details of successful initiatives that have added value for employees:
