Best Training Programme
Sponsored and Judged by Pursuit Recruitment
The Category
Employees are a primary asset of any organisation. Investment in a financially viable, well structured, focused and results orientated training programme should realise benefits within individual employees' personal development as well as company wide success.
This category is aimed at either companies with their own in-house training programmes or specialist trainers who develop programmes for others. There are two separate groups for small/medium and large companies/specialist trainers within this category.
What the judges are looking for
We are seeking organisations that can demonstrate identifiable, goal-orientated training objectives, and who can clearly explain how these have been implemented in an innovative way. We will be seeking evidence of the ongoing evaluation of the success of the training programme. Entrants should demonstrate how training is targeted for individuals of different professional experience as well as across a variety of roles to achieve company wide goals and objectives.
Specific questions to answer
- What key factors make your training process effective and successful?
- Why is training so important to your company/organisation?
- In what ways has your training had a beneficial impact upon your company/client?
- What system is in place for evaluating the success of your training programme?
- How has your training improved your staff capabilities and retention rates?
About the judges

Lorraine Phair
Pursuit Recruitment was established in Chelmsford six years ago by Lorraine Phair. Lorraine, as managing director, can boast nearly a quarter of a century in recruitment. Over a twenty year period she has acquired a formidable understanding of the processes and problems of matching jobseekers to vacancies and it was this which led her to start thinking about how to improve recruitment agency services, thus providing a much higher standard of service.
Since opening the doors of Pursuit Recruitment, the company has developed into a highly respected, well established and successful employment agency. The highly experienced professional recruitment company represents a combined forty years of service to human resource professionals across the entire county. Lorraine explains: "As our relationship develops with any of our client employers, managers will recognise that we enjoy the problems and challenges of the recruitment market largely by making sure that you are offered those candidates who best fit your needs.
"Whenever and wherever possible, we seek to move towards face-to-face contacts with our clients and key managerial personnel. This ensures that our service is personal and thus enhances what we believe to be effective and proactive responses to the task of recruiting permanent and temporary staff. Our high profile offers the benefits of a large organisation while keeping a personal approach too. We prefer to work face-to-face with our clients, whatever their size and we strive to ensure that we build an honest and reliable service. We recognise that the people we work with are important to us and we hope that we will be important to them."
