CHELMSFORD: Mum's battle sees paedophile moved

Thursday, February 04, 2010, 16:01

A CONVICTED paedophile was hounded out of a Chelmsford street after a leaflet campaign by one mum.

The news comes as the Government announced that "Sarah's Law" – giving parents the right to information about the criminal past of those who have contact with their children – may be rolled out across the nation.

In two recent cases in mid-Essex, parents living close to convicted sex offenders have mounted campaigns to get them removed.

In Burnell Gate, Springfield, a mum posted leaflets through the door of her neighbours after reading about the conviction of a neighbour in the Chronicle

See this week's Chronicle for more details, plus a full report on what Sarah's Law will mean for parents in Essex.
