BRENTWOOD: Sex secrets of suburbia
Wednesday, November 19, 2008, 17:15
The four-hour daytime shindig, billed in the naughty pages of Auto Exchange as a "Greedy Girls/ Gentleman's Party', invited 40 or so single men to a rampant orgy with six or seven open-minded couples.
A Gazette reporter, posing as a customer, discovered men were invited to join the bash for a £120 admission fee in which they could expect to meet some "very playful girls".
Organiser Vince told the Gazette: "The people who come to these kinds of parties don't want to be identified, many of them are married who want a bit extra and the last thing they want is people reading about it.
"Privacy is the main thing and if you run this story there won't be any more parties at this venue, full stop, because people won't want to go there."
The revelation is likely to send shockwaves through the community, especially as the party was hosted between 12 and 4pm on Saturday just yards from Ingatestone Hall, the ancestral home of the Lord Lieutenant of Essex, Lord Petre – the Queen's representative in Essex.
The party venue is owned by a businessman but it is not known whether he had given permission for the party.
But the organiser revealed he had rented the property for the party which he described as "like a swingers' party but single men are invited too".
He said: "If you're talking about swingers' parties then it's always the female who instigates it (sex), if she doesn't want to then that's it. If you ever see an advert for a swingers' party it will always say 'no single men'.
"But the difference with these parties, a greedy girls/gentleman's party, is simply single men are invited too.
"There are a number of couples where the woman is, for want of a better word, a nymphomaniac, who is not satisfied with just one man, so together they come here and meet others."
Talking about the admission price of £120, Vince said: "The money is used to rent the venue and pay for refreshments. It's a normal party with refreshments, the only difference is you take your clothes off."
Ingatestone councillor Richard Harrison was lost for words when the Gazette broke the news.
He said: "I know I should be shocked because this is important but I really don't know what to say.
"It's such a private place so it would be difficult I suppose for it to cause anyone any particular upset because I doubt many people would know about it.
"Providing it doesn't cause any problems to the community and it's all legal then there's not much we can do."
