Garden to honour war dead
Tuesday, November 18, 2008, 16:08
Children of all ages at the Peniel Academy joined in planting and designing this memorial garden, created to mark the 90th anniversary of the Armistice and commemorate all who have lost their lives since the First World War.
A service of dedication, led by principal and pastor Peter Linnecar, was attended by pupils, the mayor and Royal British Legion representatives.
Spokeswoman Anne Brown said: "The principal feels it is very important that future generations remember the sacrifice that was made in both world wars and subsequent wars."
