Pc James Draper replaces Pc Andrea Ford who has moved on to train new recruits.
Pc Draper has been doing a similar role in Pitsea for the past two years and is looking forward to working closer to his home in the Braintree district.
"I felt I had done as much as I could in Pitsea," he said. "This is a new challenge for me. Our current priorities are speeding in Church Street, Church Lane and Broad Road, youths causing a nuisance in Portersfield and Nottage Crescent, and continuing the good work done by the biggest drug operation Bocking has ever had.
"I am looking forward to carrying on Andrea's good work and I have my own priorities too."
