BASILDON: Teenager appearing in court following burglary

A TEENAGER is appearing in court this morning after being charged with several offences following a burglary in Basildon, Essex.

Officers were on routine patrol and stopped a car in Swanstead shortly after 4.30am on Tuesday, December 1.

Following enquiries, they arrested the driver at the scene.

The 17-year-old unemployed boy of no fixed address was subsequently charged with one count of burglary, one count of aggravated vehicle taking and one count of driving without insurance.

He has been detained in police custody prior to his appearance at Basildon Magistrates Court on Wednesday, December 2.
