V Festival stars Noah And The Whale sighted off the Essex coast
Noah And The Whale have been writing their fourth album on Osea Island in the Blackwater Estuary off the Essex coast, they revealed this week.
The popular folk band sent an email circular to their fans this week in which they described the inspirational qualities, saying "the retreat has perhaps an unsurprising history of luring many artists to its shores with its beauty and minimal distractions."
Describing themselves as being "ensconced" on the "remote archipelago off the coast of Essex", the band revealed the heavy rain of recent days had held them captive but added there was "there was something nostalgically Enid Blyton about the wild lawlessness of imported, exotic foliage, the sheer splendid isolation and the dis-used gun bunkers left over from the Second World War."
Although they're keeping tight-lipped about their new material, the band they're excited about it and looking forward to getting into the studio to record it.

Noah And The Whale visited Essex earlier this year when they played the Cliffs Pavilion in March and return later in the summer when they play the V Festival in Hylands Park, Chelmsford on Sunday, August 19.
Osea Island is only accessible by a tidal causeway and was last in the spotlight when it was used as a location for hugely popular horror film, The Woman In Black, released earlier this year.
