THIEVES took tools worth around £2,000 from a Land Rover belonging to a gardener in Earls Colne.

They broke into the Land Rover Defender parked in High Street, Earls Colne, between 2pm and 7pm on Wednesday, January 11.

Among the items taken were a Stihl backpack brushcutter, a Husqvarna hedge trimmer and a Hozelock 150 pressure washer.

They belonged to Sam Beresford-Foster, known as Sam the Gardener, who said: "If anyone sees them for sale I would appreciate it if they could let the police or Crimestoppers know."

Damage was also done to the door of the Land Rover when the thieves broke in.

Anyone who sees these tools offered for sale, or has information about the theft, should call Essex Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
