Stern test for Lauren at national championships
LAUREN Selby faces a tough ask if she is to get past the first round of the British National Squash Championships for the first time.
The 27-year-old faces number two seed Madeline Perry on court in Manchester at midday today (Wednesday) hoping that it's third time lucky.

challenge: Lauren Selby
"My record at the nationals is pretty poor," the Shenfield resident revealed. "I lost in the first round last year when I was seeded to go through to the quarter-finals and the year before that I lost in the last round of qualification.
"I haven't got past the first round of the main draw before. It's a really strong field so I'm just going to see how it goes.
"It will be a quite a good judge of how I'm getting on against the top girls.
"Madeline is fifth in the world and she used to be fourth."
Although slightly turning her ankle, Lauren returned from America on Monday following a pretty successful run.
She came through two rounds of qualification to make the first round of the Tournament of Champions held in Grand Central Station in New York. She then made the semi-finals of the Delaware Open.
Seeded fifth she knocked out the number four seed from Germany in the quarter-finals but lost to the number two seed in the semi-final.
"In the first game I went over on my ankle," she explained. "It's not bad, but I could feel it. I'm really pleased with how I played in Delaware and hopefully I can keep that up when I play today."
