Shane to return to Southend
EASTENDERS star and all-round entertainer Shane Richie will return to Southend this Christmas to appear at the Cliffs Pavilion in a spectacular production of Cinderella.
Shane will once again grace the stage, following the sell-out and record-breaking success of last year's pantomime, Aladdin, where he took the lead role. This time Shane will play the character Buttons, from Friday December 21, 2012 to Sunday, January 6 2013.

Shane is delighted to be performing in Southend-on-Sea again, saying that "the people of Essex are my kind of people; out for a fun time…"
As well as his role as Alfie Moon in EastEnders, Shane has had many television successes including Oliver Twist, Don't Forget The Lyrics, and 71 Degrees North.

He has also had film roles in various productions including Flushed Away and Macbeth. His experience in theatre has involved lead roles in both Greece and Scrooge.
As last year's panto broke box office records, early booking for Cinderella is strongly advised. Ellen McPhillips, theatre director at Southend Theatres, commented: "Last year was so successful that we are already way ahead of the usual ticket sales for this time of year."
