School celebrates pupils' good IB results
WHILE A-level students still have weeks to wait before their results are published, those who have taken the International Baccalaureate are already celebrating.
Among them are sixth formers at Brentwood School, where on average they performed better than last year.
The 25 pupils who sat the alternative to A-levels averaged 33 points, meant to be equivalent to four grade As. This is one point more than 2009, the school's first IB result year, when the school was placed 23rd in the Financial Times League Table and top IB school in Essex.
This year's highest-scoring pupil, Tobias Trojan, achieved 42 points and in September he will be heading for Cologne University in Germany to study medicine.
