What are you going to do about the traffic problems?
We recognise that traffic in the town centre and in the Panfield Lane area is already an issue.
The proposals include the construction of a link road between Panfield Lane and Springwood Drive that will allow local traffic to leave the town without having to go through the Aetheric Road traffic lights.
The road will be designed to ensure that commercial traffic cannot use the route.

Will bus routes be planned through the development?
Yes – discussions have commenced with bus operators as to the most appropriate routing for services, and we envisage the bus will run right up to and through the new development.
Can't these homes be built elsewhere?
This site was chosen because of its suitability. If new homes weren't built here, they would have to be built somewhere else, on a site not as suitable.
Are you only going to build houses?
No, this will be a mixed-use development, and along with houses, we are also looking to provide land for jobs, for education, open space, and a neighbourhood centre to provide shops and services.
What are you doing about health facilities?
One of the options we are considering is the provision of health facilities within the new neighbourhood centre.
What are you doing about the wildlife on the site?
The important habitats on site – trees and hedgerows – will be retained. The intensive arable activity on much of the land restricts the amount of wildlife, so our proposals will provide potential for new habitats.
How much of a say in what happens can the community have?
The community, residents across Braintree and other interested parties, such as businesses and service providers, will be able to influence the form of the development by responding to consultations.
We cannot guarantee that everyone's preferences can be taken in to account, but we can guarantee to listen and to respond with changes where they are appropriate.
