Potter and Cutmore dominate their field

BRAINTREE Billets BMX Club riders excelled at the latest regional championship meeting at Peterborough over the weekend where they had 52 riders out of the total of 193 competing.

In the 9-12/13-14 cruiser class the Bullets pair of Noah Shriever and Jake Coombs battled in the pack to third and fourth respectively while in the 17-29 class Braintree ruled the roost as Oliver Cutmore and Chris Potter traded wins all day.

Tracey Clarke rode well with consistent finishes to take fourth in the 30+ ladies while in the 35-39/40-44 group Dan Sturgeon finished second with club mates Mark Read-Millard and Paul Woolcott fourth and fifth.

The oldest class of the day was the 45+ and the Bullets' Darren Macal finished third and Tony Williams second.

In the eight-year-olds Jack Everitt finished fourth place in the final race. Chloe Read-Millard competed in with the boys in the class and did herself proud to come from the back and secure seventh.

The nine-year-olds saw Tyler Carter came fourth in the 'A' final. The competitive 10-year-olds class saw Braintree's recent European finalist Luke Shriever taking second.

Braintree riders dominated the 11-year-olds with the top five places going to the clubs riders, Tom Stokes, Lee Butson, Jake Coombs, Joseph Carter4th, and Alfie Giles.

Riding in with the boys following her fantastic third place at the European Championships was Bethany Shriever who stole the show in the 13 year olds to take first place.

The 15-16 classes commenced with the girls and Lana Redgewell had looked on course for a podium finish, but a slip up in the fourth race of the day saw her settle for fourth with club mate Isabel Potter riding in with the older girls to secure sixth.

The combined Masters and Veterans' class in the A final Julian Allen came third, Stu Dixon seventh.

Last up was the 17+ payback class which saw Oliver Cutmore continue his winning ways and romp home to the C final win.

The main event of the day was the class A final and Taylor Andrews rode up from the 16-year -olds to compete amongst the older riders and after a great semi-final he was geared up for a great lap where he held his own and finished in a fantastic fourth place.
