Man arrested on suspicion of Chelmsford rape

A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of rape after a woman was forced into a car in Chelmsford in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The man, from Brentwood, was arrested after police released an image of the car they believed to have been used in the attack.

The woman was forced into a car in New London Road and driven to Wood Street near the entrance to the former St Johns's Hospital, where she says the attack took place.

The man is currently being held in custody.
