Chris Sharp and Marley Watkins fired Hereford to a 2-0 win at Braintree
The visitors started the better and after seven minutes Ryan Bowman's cross was met by Sharp, whose right-footed effort from 12 yards brought a smart stop from Braintree goalkeeper Nathan McDonald.
Hereford took the lead after 20 minutes when Bowman again found Sharp, who neatly tucked the ball home.
There was no shortage of effort on Braintree's part and in a closely-fought encounter, the visitors had to wait until the 58th minute for their second goal.
