Borman gets great award
FOOTBALL: Brentwood referee Stuart Borman has become the 2011-12 Referee of the Season for the Southern-based Arthurian Football League.
He received his award from soccer pundit and now radio host David Mellor QC at the league's annual dinner held at the Connaught Rooms in the London's West End.
The award is based on the overall aggregate performance marks given by the competing clubs to referees during the season.
Borman said he was delighted to receive this award in what had been a surprise season for him - as he has recently also been honoured with selection by the Essex County FA as a member of this season's county cup final group of referees.
