This is Essex

IF it's the first Thursday of the month it must be BandCrash time! Our monthly showcase gig of Essex talent is back at Barhouse, Chelmsford on March 5 with three more top acts.

Headlining are north Essex foursome Angry Vs The Bear, a band with big hair, natty dress sense and spiky, punkpop songs. The band are really on a roll at the moment, having secured showcase gigs at the SXSW festival in Texas, the most important industry event in the world – not bad for an unsigned band subsidising everything they do themselves.

Support comes from one of the most popular bands in mid Essex, The Library Suits, whose powerful, melodic indie rock has got them plenty of admirers in the last few months.

And returning to BandCrash is accomplished singer/songwriter David Harvey who's well-crafted, delicate tunes never fail to impress.

Finally, top local DJ Badspeller will be keeping the party going with a special set after the live music is over.

Doors open at 7.30pm and entry is free, so this is a great chance to see some of the best musical talent in Essex for nothing. Check out the BandCrash page on Facebook.
