THE wet weather again decimated the Marshall Hatchchick Two Counties League programme for the second successive week with all the local clubs of Braintree, Maldon and Coggeshall losing their games although Witham did manage to get both their first and second eleven games played.

In Division One Coggeshall's home game with Lakenheath and Maldon's home match with Mistley were among the victims of the weather, mainly due to waterlogged pitches.

In Division Two Braintree's game at Brockey was called off but Witham managed to play, beating Easton by 24 runs at home.

Witham put on 179-5 when batting first but in reply Easton only managed 155.

In Division Four Witham II lost at Needham Market where the home side scored 193-4 but Witham could only manage 169 all out in replay, losing by 24 runs.

In Division Five Maldon II's match at Harwich & Dovercourt was also lost to the rain but in Division Six Braintree's second string had a great first home 124 run win over Long Melford II.

The home side scored 210-6 but the visitors were all out for 86.
